This article comprehensively describes a community service program focusing on economic empowerment through peanut cultivation among the Baduy Luar convert community in Kampung Cepak Buah, Baduy Kompol RT 04/RW 08, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. The program was initiated by Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah and technically implemented by Lembaga Dakwah Komunitas PP Muhammadiyah as part of a dakwah bil-hal strategy grounded in faith-based community development. The cultivation was conducted on a 2,500 m² plot of land, beginning in early March 2026 and culminating in a harvest on June 15, 2026.
The program applied a participatory empowerment approach combined with intensive mentoring. Assigned preachers (dai) acted not only as religious facilitators but also as socio-economic mentors, providing technical agricultural training, strengthening collective work capacity, and integrating spiritual guidance into the empowerment process. The stages included community needs assessment, land preparation, planting, maintenance, growth monitoring, harvesting, and evaluation.
The results demonstrated a successful harvest with an estimated productivity of 375–500 kg per planting season. Economically, this outcome contributed to increased household income and enhanced economic resilience among the convert community. Socially, the program strengthened internal solidarity, collective ownership, and community confidence in managing local resources independently. This model illustrates that dakwah bil-hal integrated with economic empowerment can effectively foster sustainable social transformation within vulnerable communities.
The program represents a replicable model of faith-based community service that integrates spiritual assistance, economic capacity building, and active community participation to promote long-term resilience and self-reliance.
